For years, my wife and I felt a growing burden in our hearts. We both had stable, successful careers. On paper, we were doing well. We had a home in California, financial security, and the kind of comfort most people work hard to achieve. But deep inside, we knew the Lord was stirring something more.
We began to sense a clear calling from God. He called our family to step away from successful careers, sell our home in California, and move to Kentucky to follow His leading into full-time missions. This was not an easy calling to say yes to. To obey, we had to surrender what had become idols in our lives—comfort, security, and control. With prayer and tears, we resigned from our jobs, sold our home, and moved our family across the country from California to Kentucky, trusting that where God guides, He also provides.
Out of that calling, FaithCare Outreach was born—a medical mission organization that provides medical, dental, and optical care while pointing people to the Great Physician, Jesus Christ. We began with no experience in nonprofit work or medical missions, but that’s the beauty of God’s call—He doesn’t ask us to go in our own strength. He asks us to trust Him. And every step of the way, He has reminded us that this ministry is not about us, our knowledge, or our abilities. It’s about Him and His glory.
In Year One, not only have we accomplished our first year goals, we have served in five different countries, conducting a total of 24 medical and optical clinics. Through these clinics, over 4,000 people have heard the Gospel, and we have witnessed more than 500 professions of faith.
Every clinic was conducted in partnership with a local church, ensuring follow-up, discipleship, and connection to the body of Christ.
